TRM Women

10/14/2014

have taken on a mission for their off days!
Below are pictures of a man who lives very poorly alone and the women have started by cleaning and delivering one hot meal per day.  Bravo ladies!  TRM will provide for his needs and add him to our Widows Mission.

Prayerfully, in spring volunteers will paint and repair the house, giving him a livable home.

We always offer the elderly a home with us but no one ever wants to leave their own home no matter how bad it is.

Fall 2014 Newsletter!

10/4/2014

Dear Friends and Family

The garden is all canned in jars or frozen in freezers and we are getting the houses ready for the long winter.  Funds were raised in Ireland for a new furnace for Casa Elisabeta (Sandie, Bruce & the girls live here) and its working great, just had a tryout.  We had a gas furnace prior and now we are saving money by burning with wood.  All 4 homes now heat with wood.

We have taken a new little girl, Andreea, she arrived 1 month ago.  She has Cerebral Palsy and a few minor problems that can be helped.  Getting her weight up to normal is our first priority.  She will be 4 yrs old in November.  She is a real sweetie!

Workshops are going very well, Mariana and I are starting some new button jewelry and hope it works.  Mariana appears to have some changes happening, she does not respond as usual and may have had a small stroke, no evidence except working close with her, I can see she is slower and sometimes confused.  Maybe she is just getting old like me!

Next summer, our daughter and her husband will be joining the mission permanently, they are raising their own funding and their focus from God is outreach!  We have been praying for years for some true Christians to help us in this area.  Their names are Lee and Shannon Helton.  Please check out their info on TRM website and perhaps you too will feel called to a short term mission with them!

God bless you all for your continued faithfulness to God by supporting these children and elderly of Nicoresti.

Dear Friends and Family,

Seasons change and God seems to push us along into yet another gorgeous spring!

Everyone is well, no illnesses other than the chronic ones we deal with.  We still are keeping Georgie at home in semi isolation, using gloves, masks, separate utilities, we cannot bear to put him in the TB hospital where he will surely die from lack of care.  So he lives like a little king in his private room and we are doing everything we can to protect the other children.  It has worked wonders with God's direction, Georgie has had no sick days the whole winter!  He has not been active TB since he left the hospital more than two years ago.  Doctor visits monthly.

School kids, Anca, Petrica and Constantin are doing well.  They will never be up to the other students because of late starts but they are all living their Christian values and isn't that the most important for them?

Next year is a real Halleluiah for the mission, our daughter Shannon and her husband Lee are joining us permanently and are in the midst of their fund raising now!
2015 marks the 25th Anniversary of Tanner Romania Mission as well as Bruce and Sandie's 40th Wedding Anniversary!  There will be a celebration party in June, all the village and our friends are welcome.

We are sorry the newsletters are few, we ask that you check our website and join us on Facebook for our day to day happenings, God is blessing us daily but sorry to say the arthritis is keeping my hands from typing.

We plan on taking 3 more children this year, its moving so slow now, not like the old days when I could just walk in and pick up a child and tell them, we will raise him!

God bless you all for your prayers and financial donations.  We stand bold before God and ask you to stay with us, push us on to do even more for His Kingdom!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

4/30/2014

Happy spring to everyone, we are so enjoying our move back to Casa Elisabeta!
We have about 1/3 of our garden planted, I take no credit for that, the residents did it all.  Which brings me to question, I do not like calling the kids residents, sounds like a nursing home and yet they are not "kids" anymore so please understand when I continue to say Our Children, or you may suggest something nice!

Anca, Petrica and Constantin are still in school, this is Petrica's last year, Anca has 1 more and Constantin has 2.
We are in the process of raising funds to change our central heating from natural gas to wood, the old ways are much more economical and available.  Casa Elisabeta was difficult to get to for the big gas truck and that leaves us in danger of no heat.

God bless you all for your prayers and donations and check our family page "Helton's" to see how they are coming along as God directs their new path to Romania!  Exciting times ahead, new children will have a family with us and attention to outreach will be a huge focus.

Please contact us through this site and we will get back to you immediately.

VOLUNTEERS

8/28/2013

Picture
IN ABOVE PICTURE, the Irish men, lead by Michael are building the stairway to the upper apartment, this was their first year and have been here 5-6 yrs in a row!
BELOW is our dear friend and supporter who also comes yearly, raises his own funds to come and help Bruce with spring repairs, built greenhouses for past two years and has put up new light fixtures in the church and Casa Hannah, bought a water heater and wonderful new tools for Bruce.  This man is a true Christian, he walks the walk,
and can preach while he works!
God bless all the volunteers who have come through the mission!

CASA ELISABETA

8/24/2013

Picture
Above is Casa Elisabeta, our first group home.  2 yrs ago we had to close the home due to finances. The girls were moved to Casa Hannah. God in His wisdom did not let the house sell because He had other plans.  Sandie has had arthritis for years but has come to terms with it, feels she can run the home with the help of Bruce & the girls.  The mission feels by closing Casa Miriam and Bruce & Sandie and all the girls moving to Casa Elisabeta is the way to go, to save money but more importantly for the family to be together under one roof, the house has 12 bedrooms.

When the girls were told we were all going home to Casa Elisabeta TOGETHER  there were Halleluiahs all around!
This move will then make room for more children to come into the homes, prayerfully before Christmas 2013.
The Tanner's daughter, Shannon & Lee, her husband arrive in Sept. 2013 to assist in the move, in 2015 the couple will move permanently to Nicoresti to assist in the mission and starting an OUTREACH MISSION of their own.

Please pray for all the exciting news, God has given us a clear path and we need to walk out in faith, one more time!

The secret world of Bees!

       Fun Bee Facts:

  • They are insects with a scientific name - Apis mellifera.
  • They have six legs, two eyes, and two wings, a nectar pouch, and a stomach.
  • The honeybee's wings stroke 11,400 times per minute, which makes their distinctive buzz.
  • Honey bees are almost the only bees with hairy compound eyes.
  • A honey bee visits 50 to 100 flowers during a collection trip.
  • Honeybees communicate with one another by "dancing" so as to give the direction and distance of flowers.  This is called a 'WAGGLE DANCE'.
  • Bees have a very sophisticated and democractic society.
  • The average honey bee will make only one twelfth of a teaspoon of honey in its lifetime.
  • A honey bee can fly for up to six miles and as fast as 15 miles per hour!  It would have to fly around 90,000 miles (three times around the globe) to make one pound of honey.
  •  Honey bees must consume about 17-20 pounds of honey to be able to produce one pound of beeswax.
