Everday life in our Christian Mission...

Our ministry is dedicated to the Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Tanner Romania Mission is a non-profit organisation, built on faith in God.

Lets start by saying when we arrived together in Sept 1991, we had nothing but our Christian faith and Ephesians 6:10 running through our hearts.  I won't say much about our 3 years working at the Spital (orphanage) because it is so far behind the children they barely remember life without us and Jesus!

The young adults have learned to care for their homes, gardens and animals, they assist us in canning and freezing the fruits of their labor each fall.  There was very little food available in the early years, it was like a real hunt, scavenger hunt to find a bit of cheese and forget about meat.  Bread was available but appeared as if made in a cement mixer.

Now things have changed in that respect.  Food is in abundance but people don't have jobs that can support the prices of the food, not to mention the 19% tax on that food.

Families are split up...mom and dad move to Italy, Ireland, Spain looking for jobs and leave their small children with grannie to raise.  Most women my age are still raising little ones, perhaps grandchildren as well.

We started our little church early on, we met in the living room and then built the building in 2001 and it is used for workshops, parties, dances and even once for a wedding of a poor couple that could not afford a wedding but did not want to live in sin.
That actually was a load of fun and I was very happy they married after so many years of living together, that they realized the need.

Tanner Romania Mission

Tanner Romania Mission introduced foster care to the village by placing some of our older girls in good families.  We assist them financially and visit often to insure the girls are treated well.  It seems to be working out, Stela our first girl to make the move said to me last visit, "don't cry anymore mama, I'm doing fine"....Thank you God for that one.  Stela was our first resident and perhaps my favorite daughter, but her moving on made room for one more.

That is our daily life, teaching the young adults, caring for the widows, distributing to the poor and always taking someone somewhere!  Like all you moms in America, sometimes you feel like a taxi driver, so many activities!

Oh yes, today is Friday, its time for FRIDAY AT THE MOVIES, be there 7pm at the church!
God continues to bless us, we make no moves without His blessing.  This is His mission.  All Glory to God for each step forward that these children have taken.  How He has changed our lives....Bruce comes home every day a hero in their eyes, when they hear the van coming down the road....here comes Tata and everyone runs to him,
just as we all wait to run to our one true Father.....

Come Lord Jesus, Come.

Beautiful white bird - The Holy Spirit

Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Rom 8:9
However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.
But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

Eph 4:30
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
