THE TANNER ROMANIA MISSION WORKSHOP IS A HIVE OF ACTIVITY.... |
It is still amazing to me how quickly the children learned, even back in 1991 when Sandie would sit on the floor, in the dirty halls of the orphanage and teach the children personal hygiene and basic sewing. Then in 1992 the director gave us 3 rooms and we made a living room with television where we used Christian videos to show them the love of Jesus (language for us was still a stumbling block) Bruce started his kindergarten classes, Sandie had the 3rd room for sewing and cooking. Everyone would fight to get to us, they were so hungry to learn!
That same year, Bruce contacted the village school to see if he could get some of his more advanced children in first grade. No surprise God worked on that and the next week Bruce had the first disabled child into "normal" school.
Those children moved on later to live with us and/or were adopted by friends in U.S. and Ireland.

The children/young adults are doing cross stitch pieces, hand painted greeting cards and wooden items such as boxes and Christmas ornaments.
They sell their items in Italy and Ireland through visiting friends who take loads back with them. Each child who participates receives a small salary, the donations for their work is sufficient to pay the bills on the building! |
Matthew 19:14
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. John 14:26 These things I have spoken to you, while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. . |
